WU Li-Fan was born in 1977.Since his childhood, he followed Calligraphy master TANG Qi-Gen and Chinese painting expert FAN Qing-Tian to study traditional Chinese ink painting and calligraphy. He’s been dedicated to the exploration of traditional Chinese art ever since for 30 years; however, he never restricts himself into conventions. WU Li-Fan has spent lots of time pondering and discovering the possibilities to combine various artistic styles, such as ink paintings, water color, photography and oil paintings, to express his own vision of Chinese paintings by using the differences of fine brushwork, freehand brushwork, and splash-ink.
